Hello, design fanatics!
I’m thrilled to give you a peek into my current virtual project, which is taking place virtually all the way in sunny Florida. My client, a busy mom of two with her own thriving business, reached out for help in transforming her master suite to a cozy retreat. This being a rental house we are working with existing flooring and adding a neutral paint color, our goal is to add warmth and personality, creating a space that feels cozy and uniquely theirs.
Starting with a Solid Base
The home features a wood floor and neutral walls providing a versatile foundation. While the base is in great condition, it lacks warmth and character. To address this, we’ll introduce a warm, timeless white to the walls. This will enhance the space’s brightness and provide a soft backdrop that complements the wood flooring.
Transforming the Long Living Room
The spacious bedroom offers ample space but needs some thoughtful design to ensure it’s both functional and inviting. We’ll start by re-arranging some of the furniture to create a special corner for their baby's crib. Baby will have her own space to acomodate her crib as well as a tall dresser for everyday essentials that us moms like to have handy. A comfortable seating area to read, sit down to tie their shoes, watch TV or rock the baby is a must.
Warmth and Texture
One of the most exciting elements of this project is creating the sense of warmth, we’ll layer textures throughout the space. Plush throw pillows, soft blankets, drapery and an inviting rug will add warmth and comfort. Adding some artwork and personal touches will further make the space feel like home.
Designing for a Busy Lifestyle
Given my client’s busy schedule, the design will prioritize both beauty and functionality. We’ll ensure that the space is easy to maintain and includes smart storage solutions to keep everything organized and accessible. This will allow my client to enjoy a beautifully designed home without adding to her already full plate.
A Virtual Journey
Designing remotely means leveraging digital tools to bring this vision to life. From 3D renderings to virtual mood boards, we’ll explore design options and make decisions that align with my client’s preferences and needs.
